38 Weeks Pregnant
Your due date is just around the corner and the development of your baby is already completed. The shape of your abdomen alters as soon as your baby settles her head into the pelvis. However, if she has not yet engaged herself, she will until labor time. You need not to worry about this. It will become difficult for you to move around comfortably when the head got engaged.
Development in 38th Week Pregnancy
The growth of your baby continues until the time of birth. The fat deposits continue to build-up underneath her skin.

The heart of your baby at this stage is beating at the rate of 110-160 beats a minute. Currently, there are present 300 hundred bones in her body, while the adults only have 206. Bones are still getting harder and stronger and many of her bones fuse into each other afterwards.
Appearance in 38th Week Pregnancy
The sticky vernix still covering her body and the patches of fluffy lanugo left only around her neck and shoulders. The vernix acts as a waterproof shielding of body in the uterus as well as at the time of labor.

Movement in 38th Week Pregnancy
The space in the uterus become limited for the baby to move freely, but you can still feel movements made by your baby. It is said that babies develop a rapid eye movement (REM) sleep suggesting that they are dreaming. Normally, the baby sleeps 60 percent of the day time at this stage.
Common Pregnancy Symptoms
At 38 weeks pregnant, following pregnancy symptoms have been reported:
- Breast tenderness and fullness and darkening of areola
- Frequent/Regular Urination
- Stretch Marks and Itching
- Constipation, Indigestion and Headaches
- Round Ligament Pains
- Hemorrhoids
