In many countries, the 24 week old baby in uterus is considered capable of living (viable) as an individual. However, if the baby born prematurely at 24th week, she needs to be kept in special-care baby unit under medical attention and of course on ventilator for breathing as her lungs are yet not developed completely.

Development in 24th Week Pregnancy

The lungs are developing and more air sacs appear on them. She keeps on practicing breathing by inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid in and out of lungs.

The ossification process continues in her joints and bones. Examining her brain activities suggests that she is nothing less than a newborn baby. On hearing loud noises her pulse rate increases as she startles. Her muscles are also developing.

Appearance in 24th Week Pregnancy

At 24 weeks pregnant, the face of your baby is yet not rounded completely, though it appears the same as she will have when born. Her fused shut eyes now have prominent eyelashes and eyebrows. More hairs appear on her head and you can even judge the color of them as well. The sticky vernix covers her entire body.
