At 13 weeks pregnant, your baby will appear to be the size of a peach. Certainly, she is growing quickly as she was only the size of a baked bean few weeks ago. The growth of your baby continues with this rate and in coming months she will grow rapidly. You will start noticing a bulge appearing in your abdomen.

Development in 13th Week Pregnancy

As most of the organs are fully developed, they are yet not mature. In the coming weeks, the emphasis would be on the growth of these organs. With each passing week, the movements become more and more frequent as she is moving her hands and legs to strengthen her muscles and bones.

The process of ossification (hardening of joints and bones) also continues. This process will remain there even after the birth.

Appearance in 13th Week Pregnancy

The neck of your baby is now more visible, though the head remains still at the larger side than rest of the body. A layer of soft, fluffy hairs called the lanugo appears on the body of the baby. The overall looks of the baby are more now more of a human image.

Movement in 13th Week Pregnancy

At 13 weeks pregnant, the most prominent thing is her head movement. Though an ultrasound scan you can see that how active your baby is and how quickly she is making movements in the uterus of which you are not aware of. You even notice that she is making facial expressions and moving her now freely.

Common Pregnancy Symptoms

Below are the common pregnancy symptoms pregnant women may experience:

  • Breast tenderness and fullness.
  • Frequent Urination
  • Morning Sickness (Nausea and Vomiting)
  • Constipation
  • Indigestion and Headaches
